Why Nick Cannon Doesn’t Want His Daughters Dating a Person Like Him

In a recent chat with Extra published on Thursday, July 31, Nick spilled some tea about his past dating habits and how they’ve shaped his wishes for his five daughters: Monroe, Powerful Queen, Beautiful Zeppelin, Halo Marie, and Onyx Ice. The 44-year-old didn’t hold back, admitting he hopes his girls steer clear of men like, well, him.

“When you have five daughters and you’re like, ‘All right, I at least want to be able to be true and honest,’ but like I can’t live the same life that I’ve always been living and attempt to right my wrongs,” Nick shared. He added, “Hopefully, my daughters learn from my mistakes and not date people like their dad.”

Nick’s honesty hit deep, y’all. With a dating history that’s made countless headlines in recent years, he’s reflecting on his past and wants better for his kids. Fatherhood has clearly flipped a switch for the ‘Wild ‘N Out’ creator. He says raising daughters has completely changed his outlook on relationships. Nick’s out here trying to lead by example, at least by showing what not to do.

Why Nick Is Currently Not Looking to Have Any More Kids… For Now

Furthermore, Nick’s family tree is a whole forest at this point, having welcomed 12 kids. But Roomies, don’t expect another baby announcement anytime soon. Back in March, Nick told PEOPLE he’s hitting pause on expanding his pack. “I’m having so much fun in this space right now, and the way my bank account is set up, I’m going to press hold on this 12 for right now,” he said with a laugh. But don’t get it twisted. He’s not ruling out more kids in the future. “Three years from now [or] five years from now, who knows? I’m not against it,” he added.

Nick’s journey to becoming a father of 12 wasn’t planned, and he’s the first to admit it. While reflecting on a convo with his grandma about possibly having another baby, he shared how even he is surprised how quickly his family expanded. With that said, Nick added, “I love children. I love my life, and if it could keep going in the direction that it’s going, why not?” For now, though, he’s content with being a hands-on dad to his dozen.

Nick Cannon Misses Two of His Children’s Names While Listing All of Their Names

His recent comments about his daughters come just months after the 44-year-old went viral for forgetting two of his children’s names. During a recent sit-down with Bobbi Althoff, Nick was put on the spot to list all 12 of his kids’ names, and, whew, he fumbled. The ‘Masked Singer’ host accidentally skipped two of his children’s names, leaving fans gagged. With a roster that includes Monroe, Moroccan, Onyx, Halo, and Powerful, though, can you blame him for missing a name or two?

Needless to say, the moment went viral on social media. But Nick took the mishap in stride by laughing off the slip-up. Social media, of course, ate it up, with fans joking about needing a spreadsheet to keep up with the Cannon clan. Others tend to rely on TSR’s family tree to remind themselves of all of Nick’s kids.
