Lydia Plath Explains Saving 1st Kiss With Husband for Wedding Day

Welcome to Plathville star Lydia Plath has no regrets about saving her first kiss with her husband, Zac Wyse, for their wedding.
“It’s really saddening to see how that is taken such the wrong way in this day and age,” Plath, 21, wrote in a Friday, August 1, Instagram post. “Instead of people seeing how honoring [sic] and selfless that was of my husband, they assume we just weren’t attracted to each other. QUITE THE OPPOSITE!”
She added, “It had secretly been something I had desired, but I wanted the man to bring it up by the Holy Spirit’s leading and not me putting rules on by my own strength. To my surprise, within one week of dating, Zac brings it up! It had never even crossed his mind till he met me.”
Plath recalled that Zac told her, “There is just a purity about you that I want to protect.”
Lydia, a daughter of exes Barry and Kim Plath, and Zac got married in February after a four-month engagement.
“The waiting was worth it! And now that we’re married, trust me, we’re making up for lost time,” Lydia added in her Friday post. “This man loves me in such a beautiful, pure way that I didn’t even know existed ❤️.”
Lydia and Zac recently explained their decision to wait to share a kiss on a recent episode of Jinger Duggar and husband Jeremy Vuolo’s eponymous podcast. (Lydia and Zac each had their first-ever kisses with past partners.)

“I had told her at one point [while we were dating], we were in the car, and I was like, ‘This is just great, and I’m really wanting to honor you and be intentional about everything I do. So, I’m going to hold off on saying I love you, and I’m probably not going to kiss you for a while,’” Zac recalled on the Wednesday, July 30, podcast episode. “I want it to have purpose.”
Lydia also “wanted” to save their first kiss for marriage.
“It’s something that I had wanted, but I didn’t want it to be a legalistic thing,” she said. “I didn’t want it to be a rule we had to follow because of X, Y and Z. I wanted him to initiate it … because it was in his heart. If he was going to be the one leading, he would have to have that desire.”
Lydia further noted that it was “so beautiful” to finally kiss Zac on their wedding day, adding that it made their bond even more intentional.
