From the very first game, Jadeja looked exceptional with the bat, and he bettered his performances as the series progressed, with his beast mode being seen in the second innings every single time.
In the second innings of the first four matches in Leeds, Birmingham, London, and Manchester, he registered the scores of 25*, 69*, 61*, and 107*.
However, his streak of unbeaten scores finally came to an end in the ongoing fifth Test match, but his performance didn’t go down as he slammed a beautiful half-century.
Jadeja was dismissed by pacer Josh Tongue in the 84th over of the innings. On the second ball of the over, Josh Tongue bowled a length delivery to Jadeja outside off-stump, and the Indian all-rounder just slashed it.
The ball flew towards Harry Brook at second slip after taking a thick outside edge, and the English batter made no mistake, taking it reverse-cupped in front of his left shoulder.
Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed after scoring 54 runs off 77 balls, and his innings was studded with five fours. He was not happy with the way he got out and nearly punched the stumps in anger.

Ravindra Jadeja has been a thorn in the side – Phil Tufnell
Former England spinner Phil Tufnell highlighted that Jadeja has troubled the Three Lions a lot in the ongoing series. Speaking on BBC Test Match Special, he said:
“Ravindra Jadeja has been a thorn in the side. England could be in danger of the wheels coming off in this last session. There’s the feeling that they’re running on empty. This is where you need a Ben Stokes. How much of a miss is he for this England side!?”
While talking about Jadeja’s dismissal, Phil Tufnell said that the pacer Josh Tongue deserved the wicket after bowling brilliantly. He said:
“Well done Josh Tongue. He thoroughly deserved that. Harry Brook has managed to cling onto that. England will be breathing a sigh of relief.”
Meanwhile, speaking on Sky Sports Cricket, Ian Ward said that England will need to start off well to give themselves a chance to win. He said:
“England will need a good solid start. They did it in the first innings from Crawley and Duckett, and that took away momentum from India.”
